HTC EVO 4G Getting Android 2.2 Next Week
It seems that the Android 2.2 updates are now being disseminated to most handsets, the HTC EVO 4G included. Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G will be out by next week, where Sprint will be rolling out the upgrade starting August 3.
They will be sent through waves to EVO users and forecasted that all users should have the Android 2.2 upgrade by the end of the month.
For HTC EVO owners who cannot wait for the OTA upgrade, users can manually download the upgrade starting Tuesday: Simply select the “HTC Software Update” option in the “System Updates” section of the phone’s main settings menu to force the process to begin.
Included in the Android 2.2 upgrade are new home screen widgets, a “flashlight mode” for the phone’s camera flash, and improvements to the phone’s video recording capabilities.
