HTC Evo 4G Antenna Test with Death Grip! [The TRUTH]

by HTC Evo 4G on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

For those of you wondering whether HTC Evo 4G had the same antenna receptions problems as Apple’s new iPhone 4, we did a full test showing you that the “death grip” only affects iPhone 4s, so much that even with 2 bars, iPhone 4 fails voice/data completely, rendering the phone useless.

For this test, we used SpeedTest app, which accurately shows you how fast your phone can download and upload.

First, we did the test without any “death grips” or “death finger” and as you can see, AT&T iPhone 4 gets full bars and does 1409kbps download/338kbps upload, not too shabby at all.

Next, we did the same test, except with our index finger holding iPhone 4′s gap, with just a moderate pressure, no death pressure here.  The results?  We didn’t get any results because the iPhone 4 stopped working completely, the data network on the iPhone 4 was jammed completely useless.

As you can see, the SpeedTest app is frozen during “Latency Test in Progress”, meaning the data network on the iPhone 4 is dead.  Also note that it’s still getting “two bars”, which proves iPhone 4′s bars are not accurate and it will drop voice/data regardless of the bars if a conductive material is placed between its antenna’s gap.

So, now onto the HTC Evo 4G.  With no “death grip”, we got a pretty slow 351kbps download and 326kbps upload:

With a “death grip” where I held the phone so tight you can see that my hand shakes in the video, the results are fascinating as our HTC Evo 4G’s data network increased in efficiency with 447kbps download and 559kbps upload.

As you can see, Apple has been practicing deceptive methods to deceive consumers about the real problem, iPhone 4′s “death finger”, NOT “death grip”.

Now you know which phone is the more reliable regardless of how you hold it.

The truth is out.

Just so u know the evo antenna is on the right side of the antenna and not on the lower part. Anyways it doesn’t matter cause hardly anyone holds it by the top, what this test clearly shows is how one finger can screw up the iPhone. Good job apple
