After a sheepish correction regarding the actual sales of the HTC EVO 4G, HTC CFO Robert Brust still believes that their Android handset can give the iPhone 4 a run for their money. A lot of it lies heavily on how consumers would appreciate the features of the HTC EVO 4G which include an 8MP camera, WiFi hotspot functionality and of course the 4G connectivity. But are these enough?

Perhaps but it will take a lot of work. With that misleading “sold out” sales issue, people may be now thinking twice about getting the HTC EVO 4G for the reason that it may not be a worthy phone to have after all. Branding is key and everyone knows how Apple stacks in the world of brand marketing.

Second, the iPhone 4 unveiling really made an impression. Steve Jobs and company were not threatened at all and may never be by HTC or any other company for now. So can they take on the iPhone? The HTC CFO thinks so but between you and me, it will take some time before they can officially say so!
