XDA Hackers Enable HTC EVO 4G Wireless N Feature
On why HTC left out the Wireless N feature of the HTC EVO 4G remains unexplained but leave it to some guys over at XDA to unveil a hack for it. Apparently with the step-by-step guide you can find here, you may initially need the help of a hex editor to make it happen.
But now the question remains, why it was not enabled. As you know, the HTC EVO 4G is not free from issues one of which is battery life. Now on whether this would all change after enabling the Wireless N feature remains to be seen. That is why it would be best to back up the original configuration in case something gets messed up.
